The Golden Years: 88-01

Back in 87′ when Honda rolled it’s revamped CRX Si onto showroom floors, I don’t think they could of anticipated the popularity that would follow. What Honda came out with was unordinary for your basic import of the time. With it’s front and rear dual wishbone suspension and having 4 valves per cylinder it was ahead of the competition. The basic recipe used in the EF chassis would be what Honda lived by up until the death of the Integra in 01′. It was genius, the basic suspension geometry and multiple other aspects were shared by Civics and Integras throughout this time period . Without this simplicity, the Honda community wouldn’t be what it is today. With the 1st turbo’d single cams and B swapped Civics of the early 90’s the popularity was set in stone. What I’m saying I”m sure isn’t news to 99% of you but the ease of todays engine swaps and the availibilty of aftermarket parts shouldn’t be taken for granted. Without the genius of Honda and the inginuity of the early enthusiast,  none of this would be possible.
