What’s more sought after than old Mugen parts?

When I think of Mugen parts my eyes turn to dollar signs as I’m drooling over finding the impossible. Over the years I’ve seen alot of rare parts pop up. When those parts are Mugen you better be sitting on a surplus of money if you want to buy them. This seems to be because Mugen is the go to aftermarket source of Honda. It seems as though Honda owns or runs Mugen because of how intertwined their involvement seems to be sometimes.  Suprisingly that’s not true even though they were  formed in 1973 Hirotoshi Honda, the son of Honda Motor Company founder Soichiro Honda. Enough talking about Mugen, if your into Honda’s I’m not telling you anything you don’t already know.

My rambling about Mugen and their uber expensive parrts was brought on by a pamphlet I came across. It’s a pamphlet about a turbo kit they made for the 1st gen CRX. I’ve seen the flawless widebody 1st gen Mugen CRX before but never stumbled onto this turbo kit. It’s just crazy to think this is from that era.

 

One of the Cleanest Setups I’ve Seen

Honda Tuning Magazine posted a picture of an engine compartment taken at the Import Alliance Fall 2011 meet. The only details they gave about the car was that it had 500hp/395tq. This bay really made me want to find out more about the car. After searching through IA coverage I found some other pictures of the car. Enjoy.
